Tech Tip: Mobile Access Gives You Quick Work Phonebook

If you're like me, you like to have your personal contacts and work contacts separate on your phone. If you have a smartphone, here's a great tip for just that.

First off, create a shortcut to access your EMS Manager, FIRE Manager or Zanager system. If you need help doing this on your iPhone (or iPad/iPod Touch), Android phone or Blackberry, check out the document entitled, "Mobile App and Smartphones," located in your system's help section.

Having quick access to your Aladtec online employee scheduling system will give you easy access to your employee database on your phone. After launching the mobile app, click on "Member List" and you'll be taken to a roster list of all employees in your system:



Click on "view" for any member and you'll go to that person's member details:



The information displayed here will correspond to whatever items you have in the General Information category in your system's member database. Furthermore, if you have items "hidden" from certain access levels, those items will remain hidden even in the mobile app. 

If you have phone or email fields viewable, your phone should allow you to click to call or email. This way, you can access your work contacts like a phonebook without merging them with your personal address book. Now, you have an excuse to have your employees upload a picture for their contact info!
