A Simple Reminder...

Did you know that sitting all day could be worse for you than you think? Check out this NPR article from April. Epidemiologist Steven Blair, a professor of public health at the University of South Carolina, says that:

"If you're sitting, your muscles are not contracting, perhaps except to type. But the big muscles, like in your legs and back, are sitting there pretty quietly, and because the major muscles aren't moving, metabolism slows down."

We know that all of our users work stressful jobs and hours. Here is a gentle reminder to get up and move around every now and then!

For us, other than enjoying beautiful Hudson, WI, we stretch our legs by getting pretty competitive with our pool table, foosball, and bubble hockey.

Do any of you have a game room? If so, we'd love to see some pics!

Here are a few shots from our game room:

Game Room

  1. Officially jealous. I mostly work out of my house which someday will have an air hockey table. Until then I try to do something active - walk, stretch, shoot baskets for about 20 minutes during "lunch break" and then get in a regular workout at the end of the day.

  2. In addition to replacing your office chair with an exercise ball, standing desks have been shown to improve both physical activity and productivity.

  3. Yes, Kristen, we've heard great things about exercise balls and standing desks - but you've got to admit... a pool table, foosball, and bubble hockey sound like more fun. ;-)

  4. ...or a company wide push-up contest. 1..2..3..go!

  5. Push-Up contest? Will our insurance cover workman's comp?
